Ben geri döndüm.
Merhaba folks,

it's already been 2 years since I first visited Pınar and her beautiful farm. As may some of you can remember, I was invited in June 2011 to spend one month with Pınar, Ipek and her friends in Nazilli and Kusadası.

My blog from that time is in German but maybe you want to have a look at the pictures again?! :-) Just click on "older stories" at the bottom of the page to see my stories and pictures from 2011.

In between Pınar and me kept in touch as good as people with a lot of work can do. This year I took some days off to visit her again.

This time my sister Antje came with me. Last week on 25th June we arrived in Nazilli Otogar after spending some days in Istanbul (very different to Nazilli but also recommendable ;-) ). Ziya our driver, tourist guide and good new friend met us there to give us a lift to the farm.

At the farm, my sister got to know all the nice people. Then we had lunch with Husniye. the new manager who supports Pınar wherever she can. I was totally overwhelmed how the farm has expanded. Two years ago, there were not as many kitchens and houses like today. Pınar and Husniye told us all about the changes and how life is nowadays at the farm. We also had a look at the new houses and kitchens. The nice thing about the farm houses is that from the outside it all has an old antique touch but inside you find modern cooking equipment.

After spending some time at the farm, Ziya brought us to the next village in the mountains. There we first stopped at his parent's house where we were invited for a tea. We also got to know his cute daughter and aunt. In the past, his father spend a few month in Germany so he spoke a little German with us. It was very nice to get to know Ziya's family. Afterwards Ziya brought my sister and me to a beautiful blue village house where we stayed the next two nights. For the first evening, Pinar gave us a big package along with fresh food from her farm. YAMI! :-)

The next morning Ziya brought us to Pinar's holiday house where Zübeyde made some nice breakfast. Yes, I'm talking about food all the time but that's the big difference to German culture and what the farm is about, or isn't it? ;-)

Then we went to Nazilli with Ziya and had a look at the mosque and the city center.

After a turkish coffee in a cafe, we visited Sefir and his colleague at a field where they grew aubergines and some other vegetable. I was very happy to see him again because in 2011 he showed me some places and taught me a lot of turkish words.

Afterwards we visited Ipek in Ziya's office where she works in her holidays. In 2011 we spent a lot of time together so I was so looking forward to seeing her again. When we got there she was very shy but still sooo cute. :-) I brought a little photo album for her with some photos of us in 2011. I think, she liked it very much.

After seeing Ipek again, we drove back to the village and up to the mountain peak. Ziya told us that it is called "eagle rock". We had a fantastic view!

Back at the farm, he showed us Pınar's horses that I haven't met before (because they haven't been there in 2011) and the neighbor's cows.

We also visited Ziya's cherry tree garden afterwards where we met his cousin. His cousin could speak German because he worked in Kusadasi before and had to talk a lot to German tourists.

After the tour we all needed a little break so we made another stop at Ziya's parents house where we had some water melone with them and his daughter. Later on, my sister and me relaxed behind the blue house in the garden and enjoyed the calm and quite mountain village atmosphere.

The next morning, we already started again to get to our last stop of our short trip to Turkey which was Kusadası.

All in all, we had a great time in Nazilli (again) and on our trip through Turkey. Back here, we don't have a real summer this year. It is often rainy and not very warm. Of course this is even one more reason why I wish this holiday was longer. Now my sister and me, we are both back to work and busy as a bee can be. ;-) But we are both very thankful for our trip and the warm-hearted people we met and who welcomed us. And thank you, Pınar!

Love
Birte

letzter Tag / Abreise
07.07.2011

vorletzter Tag in Kuşadası
06.07.2011
